Superintendent- Commercial Construction

Construction Management- General Construction- Design-Build

Our client an excellent established commercial construction company is actively seeking to add a mid to senior level superintendent to run day-to-day construction site operations for projects in the local tristate area (PA/NJ/DE), be responsible for the completion of the project by planning, organizing, and maintaining projects; completing quality inspections; and supervising sub-contractors and staff on time and within budget.  Compensation is commensurate with experience so please inquire today.  Project work typically involves large scale ground-up, renovation, and additions; (commercial, healthcare, hospitality, higher education, schools, institutional, academia, and corporate office buildings).

Responsibilities:

  • Supervision and participation ensuring work meets contract specifications
  • The accurate take-off of quantities and the determination of material requirements from project plans and specifications
  • Evaluate and set project safety, production, quality goals
  • Responsible for making decisions related to scheduling, deliveries, logistics, quality control
  • Manage subs to ensure smooth project operations and ability to properly resolve conflicts/issues in a professional manner
  • Manage the overall site safety  
  • Create schedules and sequencing of work to keep project on schedule.
  • Coordinate and execute daily and weekly plans
  • Understand and monitor jobsite budgets
  • Perform jobsite quality control checks
  • Ensure efficiency and quality assurance 
  • Assess jobsite productivity, quality, safety, and scheduling of manpower and equipment
  • Review equipment and manpower to maximize project efficiency
  • Ensure project progress meets client expectations 
  • Maintain strict construction schedule and make changes as necessary to ensure deadlines are met
  • Develop a detailed project plan to track progress
  • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs
  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation

Requirements

  • Five (5) or more years’ experience as a superintendent focused on relevant commercial construction projects  
  • Experience running multi-million dollar projects
  • Computer proficient with Microsoft programs as well as experience with relevant industry specific software
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
