Job Description

Job Summary: Verifies receipt of and performs a damage inspection on vehicles delivered to the dealership. Parks vehicles in the lot in an orderly manner. Essential Duties

  • Park and organize vehicles on the dealership lot, ensuring efficient use of space.
  • Move vehicles between the lot, service department, and showroom as needed.
  • Ensure vehicles are properly parked and secured.
  • Assist in the movement of vehicles for test drives or other purposes.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the lot, including removing debris and trash.
  • Ensure vehicles are clean and presentable for customers.
  • Assist in preparing vehicles for delivery to customers.
  • May be responsible for washing and detailing vehicles.
  • Assist in receiving and documenting new shipments of vehicles.
  • Keep track of incoming and outgoing inventory.
  • Ensure all vehicles are properly accounted for.
  • May be responsible for placing buyer guides and stock tags in vehicles.
  • Assist customers in locating vehicles.
  • Provide basic information about vehicles or dealership services.
  • Greet customers and provide a positive experience.
  • Assist sales and service departments as needed.
  • May be responsible for delivering vehicles to the new-vehicle preparation department.
  • May service vehicles in storage to protect tires, battery, and finish against deterioration.
  • May be required to drive both manual and automatic vehicles.
  • Pick up and delivery of vehicles to customers.

  • No prior experience or training required.
Language Skills * Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills * Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance. Reasoning Ability * Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.   • Ability to lift and move objects of various weights, including tires, rims, and brake drums. They may need to lift objects less than 10 lbs constantly, regularly lift objects up to 50 lbs or more, and occasionally lift objects up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time, such as when working on equipment or standing on ladders.
  • Ability to crawl under vehicles or climb on ladders.
  • Ability to bend, stretch, and twist while working in confined spaces.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to use hand tools that require accurate control and steadiness.
  • Ability to use machinery or equipment that requires very controlled movement.
  • Lot attendants may be exposed to extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noises.
  • Lot attendants need clarity of vision at varying distances to observe diagnostic instruments, manuals, and other printed information.
  • Lot attendants need to be able to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds.
