As a Senior Front-End Engineer, you will be vital in optimizing and advancing the front-end ecosystem at JustAnswer. This position focuses on performance, scalability, and enabling faster front-end development cycles across the company. As a part of the 5-engineer team, you’ll collaborate closely with over 30 software engineering teams across multiple initiatives, helping identify pain points, introduce automated insights, and test AI-driven solutions to boost developer productivity. Our front-end serves 8 M daily visits, 240 M requests, 5 Tb of traffic, and 10 M page views every day and supports over 300 production releases every week across 200+ services. Your contributions to the front-end infrastructure team will directly impact how quickly and reliably the company can ship customer-facing features, used by millions globally.
What You’ll Do
Write high-quality, testable, and maintainable front-end and front-end infrastructure code to keep our platform modern, secure, and performant
Partner with initiative teams and individual engineers to understand front-end challenges and drive scalable, high-impact solutions
Build and implement automated metrics and dashboards to track performance and identify bottlenecks in the front-end development process
Research, evaluate, and test AI-powered tools and solutions to improve front-end workflows
Actively participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, and mentoring to elevate front-end quality company-wide
What We’re Looking For
5+ years of experience in front-end development with a strong emphasis on test-driven development
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with solid experience using React (or similar frameworks)
Familiarity with front-end build tools and package managers (e.g. npm)
Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and modern front-end infrastructure
Strong collaboration and communication skills; comfortable engaging with large engineering teams
Ability to independently evaluate tools and introduce improvements across a complex system
Upper-Intermediate English or higher
Deep testing hands on experience (Jest, React Testing Library, etc.)
Familiarity with containerised and cloud-native deployments (Docker, Kubernetes) would be a plus
