VISITING LECTURER IN MUSIC (CHORAL CONDUCTOR)
SPRING 2026 Scripps College, a women's liberal arts college with a strong interdisciplinary tradition, and the Joint Music Program of Claremont McKenna, Harvey Mudd, Pitzer, and Scripps Colleges invite applications for a one-semester position of Visiting Lecturer in Music, to co-teach two choir ensembles (1/2 course each for a total of 1 course compensation) . The position is for the Spring semester, January-May 2026. Teaching experience required. Doctorate, ABD, or equivalent experience required. Responsibilities include co-directing (with the Director of Choirs) a mixed-voice chamber choir and a treble choir, selection of repertoire in cooperation with the Director of Choirs, and holding an office hour each week. Rehearsal classes would be either Mondays or Wednesdays, 5:30-8:30 p.m. Planned concert projects include an April 24-26, 2026 concert weekend of the choral ensembles.
The salary for this position will range from $8,460 to $9,400 and will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.

The Joint Music Program of Claremont McKenna, Harvey Mudd, Pitzer, and Scripps Colleges offers performance ensembles and other courses to students throughout the consortium. Faculty in the Joint Music Program are also faculty within the Scripps College Music Department, which provides instruction in music theory, music history, ethnomusicology, and performance to both majors and non-majors in a challenging liberal arts setting.
